Dear MPV readers,
We are pleased to share with you the Winter 2022-23 issue of The Mean Journal by MeanPepperVine. This issue features 4 short stories, one photo essay and one flash fiction from writers and creatives spread across the country.
Our cover art is by Nobuyoshi Araki from his Sakura polaroid series (2013) taken at Tokyo’s Hamarikyu Gardens and Aoyama Cemetery.
What are your goals for the year ahead?
A softer life, finding home in liminal spaces, enjoying the transience of things, more singing out loud, and more ceative collaborations are some of our intentions for the coming year.
Seneca: “To treat the days like separate lives.”
Bruno Schultz: “To ripen into childhood.”
We hope you enjoy this issue. Keep creating!
